People that suffer from
schizoid personality disorder do not have schizophrenia and can maintain a
grip on reality. The cause of the disorder is unknown but it is believed
that the onset will begin in early adulthood. People that suffer from this
disorder are often reclusive, may never marry and as older adults will
continue to live with their parents.
Symptoms
• Does not experience
Strong emotions
• Does not desire or enjoy close relationships
• Indifferent to praise or criticism
• Aloof, cold affect
• Exhibits little observable change in mood
